Fisherman's Accessories

Almost any equipment or gear used in fishing can be called fisherman’s accessories. Examples being hooks, lines, baits/lures, rods, reels, floats, sinkers/feeders, nets, spears, gaffs and traps, as well as wires, snaps, beads, spoons, blades, spinners, clevises and tools that make it easy to tie knots.

The five basic methods of angling are bait fishing, fly-fishing, bait casting, spinning, and trolling. All are used in both freshwater and saltwater angling. Bait fishing, also called still fishing or bottom fishing, is certainly the oldest and most universally used method.

Today, there are specific rods and reels specially designed for every fishing style, but the primary consideration for first-timers is to make things easier.
