Fishing Line Winder

$4.95

Frequently changing line is a necessary evil, and this easy and efficient fishing line winder reduces the pain. There is no official answer for the life of these products, but we’ve compared estimates from various fishing publications. Overall, monofilament has an average shelf life of two to three years. Fluorocarbon lines can last up to seven or eight years without losing their edge.

The fishing line winder can do both Winding function and unwinding Function. Versatile for Both Thick & Thin Rods – The line spooler clamp can hold the rod blank from 0.2-1.1inch in diameter. Rotate clamp to the convex surface if you have thick rod at 0.6-1.1in/15-28mm in diameter. You want to put enough line on the reel so that it casts well, but you still want to be able to see about 1/16 or a little more of an inch of the spool when it’s full. It gives the line room for expansion, but it also is close to the edge of the spool, so it unravels easily and smoothly on a cast.

Frequently changing line is a necessary evil, and this easy and efficient fishing line winder reduces the pain. There is no official answer for the life of these products, but we’ve compared estimates from various fishing publications. Overall, monofilament has an average shelf life of two to three years. Mono grips into the arbor (the center of the spool) much better than braid does. This pretty much guarantees you won’t have issues with the line free spinning when you get a fish on. The optimum level is to fill the spool to within about a 1/8 of an inch from the outer edge of the lip of the spool. This leaves enough lip to retain your line but is full enough to launch long casts.

Usage:

Slack fishing line is a big culprit when it comes to line tangles. As you reel in slack line, this creates loose coils on your spool. When you cast, these loose coils will come off the spool quickly compared to the line around it, causing the coils to overlap on themselves as they leave the reel and tangle up. Initially winding line onto the reel with a good spooler reduces the potential for tangles.
