Soft Plastic Baits

Soft plastic baits are killer in the proper hands. We offer many different items for all types of fishing. Freshwater or saltwater, it doesn’t matter. Fish attack them with reckless abandon and are as effective as live bait.

Swimbaits can be rigged in different ways to catch a variety of fish species. A plastic swimbait in the right size will catch any fish that commonly feeds on smaller fish. Micro swimbaits will catch bluegill and crappie. Small swimbaits will catch trout, walleye, sauger, and finicky bass.

Soft plastic fishing techniques we recommend starting with 2 simple techniques. Cast your soft plastic baits or lure and wait for it to hit the bottom. Then add several quick erratic lifts and wind in the slack then let the plastic sink to the bottom once again. Rule of thumb for selecting hooks size is based on the bulk of a soft plastic lure, not the length.

As green pumpkin proves versatile in the natural color collection, black can be a good dark color in all water clarities. With all these plastics, it’s important to run a rod length or so of light 6-12lb fluorocarbon leader such as J-Thread FC. This will add a tiny bit of stretch to the system, but more importantly, it will make the line down near the soft plastic nearly invisible to fish.
