Mild Seafood Coating (Gluten-Free)

$7.95

The coating/batter turns into a shell that keeps the sensitive protein in place and stops it from sticking to the hot surface of the pan. Coating can also make it easier to fry fish meat that tends to fall apart. Dip the piece of food in a beaten egg and coat it with breadcrumbs before frying. For more consistency and a moisty result, dredge the food with flour between egg and breadcrumbs.

If you are looking for a puffier result you can also add some baking powder to the flour or egg.

Description

This is the perfect mild seafood coating mix (Gluten-Free) for frying fish and shellfish. This blend used cornmeal as its base. We blended some unique spices and got a phenomenal coating for deep frying or pan frying. Best uses are fish, clams, oysters, shrimp, and even lobster. We’ve added a small amount of Sea Salt per bottle so you may need to add a little to fit your taste. Let’s do things the old-fashioned way. Empty the coating into a brown paper bag, add seafood, shake vigorously, and into the grease you go. We make this mixture both spicy and mild for those discerning tastes. This mix comes in 30oz resealable bottles for maintaining freshness and is 100% additive and preservative free !!!

Usage:

Coating fish before frying gives lean fish more flavor because the mild seafood coating mix adds a crispy mouth feel and absorbs the flavors of the frying fat. This Mild Seafood Coating (Gluten-Free) makes cooking delicate fish even easier.

Corn starch is, as its name implies, a starch which will act as a weak glue when heated wet. Just don’t pile it on. dredge each fillet in the corn starch and tap off the excess until you’re left with a thin, uniform layer. Your batter will stick to the corn starch, which will stick to the fish. Maintaining the oil temperature is crucial. Most seafood should be fried between 350 to 375 degrees. Smaller, thinner pieces should be cooked around 375, thicker pieces around 350.
