It didn’t take long for people to begin breeding pepper plants. They developed the most desirable traits in their peppers. Then, as with most foods, colonization further evolved hot sauce. They achieved this by introducing ingredients from other parts of the world. Those ingredients include vinegar and other spices. History:
In the 19th century, the Tabasco company brought hot sauce into the commercial scene by bottling and selling their products, mainly to hotels and restaurants. And today, there are countless varieties of hot sauce covering a broad spectrum of flavors, from sriracha to buffalo sauce.
Hot Sauce Types:
There are two types of fermented hot sauce.
Louisiana-style Hot Sauces: Usually made with tabasco and/or cayenne peppers, these are often what people think of when calling to mind mass-produced hot sauce.
Mexican-Style Hot Sauces: Made with lots of smoked and/or dried pods as well as local ingredients.
