Deep Drop Jig (Blue, Pink, Silver) 4.5oz

$8.95

Deep jigging iron gets you down into some mean and angry fish. These fish don’t like to be bothered. When they see this Blue Deep Drop Jigs(4.5oz) in blue pink silver jig, all fish want to do is punish the bait.

Deep jigging is the term used for fishing a deep drop jig using iron in a deep-water setting, usually more than 100 feet deep. This fishing technique is often employed to catch husky bottoms fish species such as mutton snapper, amberjack, and grouper. Black, blue and dark greens and browns are traditional favorites for jigs largely because flipping and pitching baits into dark places is the most stereotypical jig fishing application. Those colors remain important, especially for jig fishing in dark places and stained waters. The best deep sea fishing techniques involve trolling natural or artificial baits. If bottom fishing, try using fishing lures such as large Blue Deep Drop Jigs(4.5oz) or heavy-duty rigs to get the baits down deep.

Usage:

To have a successful pull, you need to keep the bait to the bottom as long as possible. This will give you enough reaction time to the deep-water fish and eventually hook them up. Additionally, once you get the bite, make sure you don’t pull too aggressively up because you will scare the fish. On one end of the spectrum, reds and oranges are most readily absorbed in water, so these colors are most visible in shallow water. Darker blues and purples penetrate the deepest. Yellow and green are in between.

Mechanical/knife jigging works best in deeper waters when you want to fish at reefs and shoals. This is usually at a depth of 60 to 100 meters of water. You’ll have access to larger sportfish like kingfish, samson fish, and amberjacks. Although you can also catch other common reef species with this technique. The best way to gain confidence fishing in deeper water is to force yourself to spend time gaining experience.
