3-Way Rolling Brass Swivels

$3.95

3-Way Rolling Brass Swivels are great for setting up several different fishing rigs. One of the most popular is tying the main line to one eye, a short leader with a lure to another and a longer leader with a second lure to a third eye. This puts two lures in the same vicinity, increasing your chance at hooking a fish. The Trilene Knot, also known as the Two Turn Clinch Knot, is great for tying line to snaps, swivels, hooks and lures.

Large snaps or snap-swivels cause problems with many brands of small fishing lures. They will degrade performance, acting as a damper on lure action. They can sink a small lure. However, in circumstances where you need the lure to dive deeper. The extra weight of a larger snap-swivel may be what you want. You can get away with 3-Way Rolling Brass Swivels and snap swivels when the water is murky or when fishing in low light scenarios. Most of the time it will lead to fewer hook ups. There are many sharp-eyed fish species that use sight more than others. Tarpon have large eyes and will notice your swivels in clear water.

Usage:

If you want to learn how to tie a strong knot with braided fishing line, practice tying the double Palomar knot. This is one of the best knots to use when connecting braided line to a swivel, but it can also be used with monofilament or fluorocarbon line. It was developed by Berkley specifically for use with its monofilament lines. It also excels for joining swivels, leaders and lures to mono and fluorocarbon.

The Palomar knot retains about 95% of the line’s strength, one of the highest percentages tested among all knots. However, this knot has a few disadvantages: friction might occur if it’s not wet or lubricated. Also, we don’t recommend using it with hair rigs or heavy mono lines.
