Description
This 5 in 1, multifunctional double head stainless steel shrimp stripper tool gets the job done. Cleaning shrimp with this stainless-steel Shrimp Deveiner Tool is a snap. The “vein” is the shrimp’s digestive tract and is perfectly safe to eat. Some prefer to remove it because it can be gritty and/or for aesthetics. I remove it because I know what goes through the digested track.
Cleaning large volumes of shrimp can take a long time and rusks cutting yourself when you get tired. Using this tool allows you to cut and slice through the shell and remove those unsightly veins. This makes cleaning something other than a drudge task. There are two “veins” in shrimp. One is a white vein which is on the underside of the shrimp. It is white because a shrimp has clear blood. There is no real food safety reason to remove the clear shrimp vein (I don’t) but you may do so if it bothers you. This Shrimp Deveiner Tool surely helps in this process.
If you choose to leave the digestive tract in place, or can’t completely devein it, there’s no need to worry. There’s no food safety reason to remove it as cooking “sanitizes the meat. If you choose to not devein the shrimp, just rinse all your shrimp to remove any left over debris. You then pat the shrimp dry them with a paper towel, and they’re ready to cook. Technically, when shrimp are cooked, neither shrimp vein needs to be removed. If you are not planning on eating a plateful of shrimp ceviche, though, you could safely leave the back vein in.
