Uncle Sugar BBQ Sauce(6Pack) is your traditional tomato based BBQ sauce made with Gus’s special twist. There are a lot of sauces in this category and we added a few things we add to our ribs on top of this sauce. Making Uncle Sugar different is exactly what we were going for. This sauce is different and we hope everyone who uses it can appreciate the extra effort we took to make this taste different from what you’re used to.

Some place the origin of barbecue sauce at the formation of the first American colonies in the 17th century. References to the sauce start occurring in both English and French literature over the next two hundred years. German settlers in the 18th century traced South Carolina mustard sauce, a type of barbecue sauce. Vinegar, salt, and pepper made early homemade barbecue sauces. In the 1920s, people started to use sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce, but after World War II, they dramatically increased the quantity of sugar and the number of ingredients.

By far the most common type of barbecue sauce is the tomato-based sauce. And although there are exceptions, the tomato in these sauces is almost always in the form of ketchup. Barbecue sauce (also abbreviated as BBQ sauce) serves as a marinade, basting, condiment, or topping for meat. People cook that meat in the barbecue cooking style, including pork or beef ribs and chicken. Cooks widely use it as a condiment in the Southern United States and on many other foods as well.

Uncle Sugar BBQ Sauce(6Pack):

This sauce is best applied during or after cooking to bring out the individual flavors of the sauce and food. This sauce is reasonably mild but it will “pinch” you just like that mean old uncle. Recommended use is on Beef, Pork, Fish, and Poultry.
