Probably, anglers have caught every species of fresh or saltwater fish on the GitZit Tube Bait. The GitZit Tube Bait (Pumpkin) is the perfect bait for winter fishing. Many freshwater and saltwater records throughout the years have been set by tube baits, and the nation\u2019s top fishermen well know them. The 5″ and 6″ Super Tubes are to go for the deeper bigger ones!<\/p>\n

There was a time when they were extremely popular, especially for Smallmouth bass, but over the years, their usage has declined. However, tube baits remain one of my go-to options. Lakes like this\u2014filled with wood and grass\u2014are prime habitats for crawfish, and nothing imitates a crawfish better than a tube. In the ocean, Calico bass, Sand Bass, and the elusive Halibut and Flounder routinely hammer tube baits. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Anglers also fish GitZits Texas-style with the weight on the nose of the lure. I will allow the weight to run freely on the line in heavy weeds. I find this eliminates a lot of snagging in the weeds. If the weeds have open areas, use a toothpick to peg the weight, making sure to snip off the excess. Select good saltwater baits including sea worms, eels, crabs, shrimp, strips of squid<\/strong>, and cut-up pieces of fish.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Bigger baits tend to catch bigger fish. These tubes are large so for saltwater, we recommend at least 20lb line. The same for freshwater because f the obstructions.<\/p>\n

GitZit Tube Bait (Pumpkin) Field Testing:<\/h3>\n

We have targeted Saltwater Bass and Halibut achieving deadly results. Inserting a 2-4oz jig head and heaving it into the drink is all it took. Tubes are one of the most versatile baits in bass fishing. Anglers commonly refer to tube baits as a smallmouth killer because fish can’t get enough of them. These are super baits and catch bass of all species from large mouths to spotted bass and of course smallmouth.<\/p>\n
