These lures are typically cylindrical and range from 4 to 8 inches. Cedar plugs are used for offshore fishing and are designed to mimic small baitfish like mackerel, herring, or sardine. This particular trolling lure is a Cedar Plug Nude (Rigged),<\/p>\n<p>This trolling lure has been around for years and is fast catching on around the world. Available in real natural cedar or a variety of colors. Rigged or unrigged, this lure is great for all game fish. Cedar Plugs are available in 4, 6, and 8 lengths. Models rigged east coast style have 8 of leader, a plastic thimble and 3412 Mustad hooks as follows: 4 has a 8\/0, 6 has a 10\/0, and 8 has a 10\/0 hook. Anglers rig this 4 inch cedar plug with 100 lb. test mono, and they rig the 6 and 8 with 150 lb. test mono. Models rigged West Coast style have 4 of mono and a 2\/0 crane barrel swivel. The shorter leader allows for casting if desired.<\/p>\n<h2>Cedar Plug Nude Trolling Techniques:<\/h2>\n<p>Some of the most popular trolling techniques include slow trolling, fast trolling, and downrigger fishing. Slow trolling is a great way to catch saltwater fish. This trolling technique involves dragging a lure behind the boat at a slow speed.
