If you have a fishing rod that&#8217;s up to 7 feet, the rod sock tan(7) will cover it. For this reason and because of accidents, protecting them is my number one priority. Nothing worse than snapping off the tip of your rod when you&#8217;re out on the water.<\/p>\n<p>Rods can last for decades, but also wear out earlier than expected. The material of the rod, how you treat it, and how often you use it will determine how long it lasts. Poor-quality fishing rods and poor maintenance can shorten their usability. Sunlight can cause the materials used in the construction of the rod to break down over time, which will shorten its lifespan. If you must store your fishing rod outside, consider using a storage shed or similar structure. Structures will protect rods from the sun and other elements.<\/p>\n<p>This sock protects rods up to seven (7) feet in length from scratches, flying debris, etc. Banging against other rods or tapping against the bulkheads is typical. Rods are at most risk while underway and especially when in rough seas. The sock will fit spinning, standup\/conventional, or fly rods. They make the sock of soft cotton and make it machine washable.<\/p>\n<h2>The Rod Sock Tan(7) Usage:<\/h2>\n<p>In general, fishing rods don&#8217;t go wrong with age. Heavy use can only break down a fishing rod, especially when someone makes it from fiberglass. If you keep them in good condition and do maintenance, a rod you&#8217;ve had for years can outlive you. It&#8217;s generally okay to store fishing rods in a garage, but it&#8217;s crucial to protect them from potential damage caused by temperature fluctuations and humidity. Proper storage practices, like using a rack and keeping them dry, are essential to prevent damage to the rods.
